WEEK 1

Mon, April 4	7:40 AM-8:30 AM: Wake-up and meet Claire to head to Sheltering Arms 8:30 AM-9:30 AM: Arrival and meet with the volunteering director to show us which classroom we will be in and go over rules 9:30 AM-12:00 PM: Played with the Pre-K children and got to know the teacher 12:00 PM- 2:00 PM: Lunch break 2:00 PM- 3:00 PM: Arrive back at the center and switched classrooms with Claire. Am now with 2 year olds...Waking up from their naps 3:00 PM- 4:00 PM: Got them ready to go outside/Played with them outside 4:00 PM-5:00 PM: Washed the kids up, calmed them down, and played with them. Read books, ran around, and cleaned up toys with them. 5:30 PM- 7:30 PM: Blogging, logging, uploading pictures, making blog website look good:) Hours for Day: 8.5 hours
Tues, April 5	8:30 AM -9:00 AM: Arrival at Sheltering Arms and head to original classroom assignments. Greeted and played with the children 9:00 AM- 10:00 AM: Played outside with children 10:00 AM- 11:30 AM: Played with children inside doing various activities 11:30 AM- 1:30 PM: Helped Beth with various tasks (tying up silverware and mason jars) 1:30 PM- 7:00 PM: Not working on project 7:00 PM- 9:30 PM: Research pediatric oncology 9:30 PM- 10:30 PM: Finishing up blog and uploading pictures Hours for Day: 8.5 hours
Wed, April 6	8:30 AM- 9:00 AM: Arrival at Sheltering Arms and went to a classroom that needed my help 9:00 AM- 10:00 AM: Played with kids in Classroom #6 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM: Played with kids outside 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM: Helped children get ready for lunch and sat with them while they ate 12:00 PM- 1:00 PM: Bought supplies for Belize 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM: Lunch break 2:00 PM- 3:00 PM: Played with a combination of children from Classroom #6 in Classroom #5 with those children 3:00 PM- 4:00 PM: Danced with the children, played legos with them, helped get them ready to go back outside 4:00 PM- 5:00 PM: Played outside with children and got to know the teachers and then said goodbye to the children and the teachers 5:00 PM-7:00 PM: Not working on project 7:00 PM- 9:00 PM: Filled out paperwork for internship tomorrow and researched some more about the field. I also drove to Scottish Rite to make sure I know where to park and walk in first thing tomorrow morning :) 9:00 PM- 10:00 PM: Blogging, logging, uploading pictures Hours for Day: 10.5 hours
Thu, April 7	7:00 AM- 8:00 AM: Woke up and arrived at the hall of the pediatric oncology center at Scottish Rite 8:00 AM- 9:00 AM: Met the other nurses and did watched nurse do vitals of three separate patients 9:00 AM- 10:00 AM: Did rounds with nurse practitioners, doctors, pharmacists, and the nurse I was shadowing 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM: Shadowed nurse while she gave each patient their different medicines 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM: Checked in on each patient with their medicines and then said goodbye and thanked the nurse 12:00 PM- 9:30 PM: A well needed and deserved break 9:30 PM- 10:30 PM: Blogging and logging and getting thoughts together from overwhelming day Hours for Day: 6 hours

Mon, Apr 11	6:00 AM- 8:00 AM: Woke up and met Claire to go to airport, we said goodbye to our families 8:00 AM- 9:00 AM: Ate breakfast and went to the gate 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM: Got on the plane and traveled to Belize City! (We are now on Belize time which is two hours earlier than ATL) 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM: Went through customs and baggage claim and met someone who works with "A Broader View" who came to bring us to Liberty Orphanage 12:00 PM- 2:00 PM: Went to orphanage, went to buy water, and got settled 2:00 PM- 5:00 PM: Helped with the daycare 5:00 PM- 6:00 PM: Played sports with kids 6:00 PM- 6:30 PM: Dinner 6:30 PM- 7:30 PM: Played more with the kids before they went to bed 7:30 PM- 8:00 PM: Shower 8:00 PM- 9:00 PM: Logged and blogged Hours for day: 6.5 hours
Tues, Apr 12	6:00 AM- 6:30 AM: Woke up and got ready 6:30 AM- 7:30 AM: Helped with breakfast and ate with the children 7:30 AM- 8:00 AM: Walked the kids to the school bus stop and then said goodbye and wished them a good day at school 8:00 AM- 10:00 AM: Helped out in the daycare/preschool 10:00 AM- 10:30 AM: Got water at store 10:30 AM- 12:30 PM: Helped out in daycare and preschool 12:30 PM- 2:00 PM: Went to eat with volunteers and got some things we needed at the grocery store 2:00 PM- 3:00 PM: Researched more about Belize 3:00 PM- 6:00 PM: Played with kids/helped them with homework 6:00 PM- 6:30 PM: Got sick/showered 6:30 PM- 7:00 PM: Recovered 7:00 PM- 8:00 PM: Blogged and logged Hours for day: 12 hours
